Simulations of Crab Crossing in Storage Rings*
نویسنده
چکیده
-. The beam-beam interaction with a crossing angle and with a compensating crab angle is simulated and treated partially analytically. The crab angle is obtained by transversely deflecting cavities in one case and by a dispersion in the accelerating cavities in another case. Resonances which are excited by the action of the crab cavities are investigated. Tolerances for the cavity voltage and for the betatron phases between the cavities and the interaction point are discussed. *Work supported in part by the department of energy Contract DE-AC03-765F00515 t on leave from DESY, Hamburg, Germany

Effects of long-term frozen storage on the compositions of free amino acids and nucleotide-related compounds of the coconut crab Birgus latro
This study examined the effects of long-term frozen storage (-20 °C for 5 months) of free amino acids (FAAs) and nucleotide-related compounds (NRCs) in muscle and hepatopancreas of the coconut crab Birgus latro. Although long-term frozen storage had little effect on FAA composition in muscle, the amounts of several FAAs increased in the hepatopancreas that may be the result of protein decomposi...

متن کاملSimulations and Experiments of Beam - Beam Effects in e + e − Storage Rings ∗
Over the past decade, extensive simulations of beam-beam effects in e+e− colliders, based on the particle-in-cell method, were developed to explain many complex experimental observations. Recently, such simulations were used to predict the future luminosity performance of e+e− colliders. Some predictions have been proven to be correct in the existing accelerators. In this paper, many effects su...
متن کاملCoherent Beam-Beam Instability in Collisions with a Large Crossing Angle.
In recent years the "crab-waist collision" scheme [P. Raimondi, Proceedings of 2nd SuperB Workshop, Frascati, 2006.; M. Zobov et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 104, 174801 (2010)PRLTAO0031-900710.1103/PhysRevLett.104.174801] has become popular for circular e^{+} e^{-} colliders. The designs of several future colliders are based on this scheme. So far the beam-beam effects for collisions under a large cr...
متن کاملStudy of crab cavity option for LHC
It is prefered to make a larger crossing angle to avoid parasitic collisions between beams in LHC. The transverselongitudinal aspect ratio of the LHC beam is 17 μm/7.5 cm=0.23 × 10−3. Crossing angle larger than the aspect ratio causes geometrical degradation of luminosity. Crab cavity can realizes head-on collision without crossing angle effectively, with the result that it recovers these lumin...
